Position at Salon : Creative Stylist
James is an incredibly exciting young Hairdresser, who has a strong passion for modern contemporary cutting and styling and we were so happy to welcome him into the salon team, which, believe it or not, was just over a year ago now, but as we all know the huge periods of Lockdown have kept him out of site.
James has many creative aspects to his very interesting life, so we did a little Q&A so you can get to know him.

What haircuts do you find the most exciting currently?
The Bob is my favourite haircut to work with. It is a very versatile haircut that can be adjusted to suite any client.
I also love working with curly hair to create natural, bouncy styles which are easy to maintain.
Name your top 2 “Hair Heroes”, past or present? Which ones inspire you the most?
Vidal Sassoon & Christopher Brooker Vidal Sassoon changed the world of hairdressing by creating cuts which were material in motion, precise, easy to care for and versatile. Christopher Brooker is also an inspiration to me.
Creating the three-dimensional brush cut in the 70s it was a hugely influential style of the punk era.
What are your hobbies?
Playing music and Skateboarding.
What is your favourite drink?
Pepsi.
What is your favourite music genre?
My record collection varies greatly! But I mainly listen to Punk.
What do you love about the hairdressing industry?
I enjoy the creativeness of the hair industry and the freedom to be myself.
What is the favourite part of your job?
Creating tailored haircuts and socialising with my clients.
James works exclusively out of the city centre salon in Newport on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
