I have enjoyed being part of the Burlesque Team for 5 years and now work as a fully qualified creative stylist, my preference and desire for creative input is realised as a stylist, because I have the freedom to explore the boundaries of fresh cutting edge styles and designs in the dressing of hair.

The Art Team fuels my passion for this, it is my goal to continue growing as a creative stylist with Burlesque to expand on the great foundation skills that I already have.

I just love everything about hair, the whole thing I find exciting and inspirational and working with the Burlesque Art Team for the last 5 years has ticked all the boxes. I was able to bring my 14 years experience with Toni & Guy with me and develop that knowledge further within the team. The problem is with me I never stop wanting new information, it’s what keeps me going. Delivering some of the training seminars get your ticker going but they are really satisfying and it’s great to see students leaving with new material.

I am a fully pledged Burlesque Babe. I have come through the school of experience. After 3 years of training I was drawn towards colour and made the decision that was the field for me. I am now in my 7th year and am proud to say I have progressed to a senior director of colour also head trainer to all the up and coming Burlesque girls.

With 25 years of hairdressing experience behind me I joined the Burlesque Team about 4 years ago and have been an Art Team member for about 2 years. I really believe it allows me to work with an amazing team where each individual brings their unique skills to the table, which everyone benefits from.

I love brainstorming, creating fresh ideas and looks we can take on the road and also onto the salon floor, making us race ahead of the game regionally. Look out for stronger structure and bigger bouncier curls for `09

From a very young age I have always taken a firm interest in all aspects of hair shapes and colour. Being a senior colour technician and a member of the Art Team the passion for the industry has drawn me into entering many competitions and also given me a great sense of pride in the work I deliver.

After 6 years of hairdressing I still enjoy every day and the many challenges it brings. Looks for `09 are lots and lots of colour on any shape!

John

I started as an apprentice with Burlesque around 5 years ago and now currently manage the Usk salon. Due to the nature of the industry, I always have to move with the times and take inspiration from everywhere, maybe a modern take on a look from a bygone era, or a progression on a look I might see someone wearing on a night out.

I believe the Art Team is a great way to develop, nurture and share inspiration turning ideas and concepts into hair designs we deliver on the salon floor.

I have been with Burlesque for about 2 years and work as part of the very creative Art Team. My speciality I feel is dressing long hair fashionably and creative colouring techniques, I also love the diversity and the challenge of taking somebody to the next level; it’s great to see the transformation!

I predict stronger sharper styles on short hair, maybe some cheeky under cutting and more curl and volume on longer styles.

I have been with Burlesque for 6 years, starting as a junior, progressing as a colour technician and currently a senior creative stylist and a member of the Art Team. I love being a stylist as it allows my artistic creativity to run wild, creating strong, structured shapes that are always in line with fashion.

Our clients don’t just help us develop fashion - they demand it!

Katie L

I have been part of the team for 7 years now and really enjoy being a senior creative stylist. My involvement with the Art Team allows me to expand my creativity whist dressing long hair for fashion or avante garde looks.

I still really enjoy cutting and getting a different dimension on hair by using alternative colouring techniques and I love putting my stamp on the final look whether it’s a photo shoot or a wedding. Up dos for `09 will mix sleek and rougher textures creating an interesting contrast.

Being part of such an inspirational team is of prime importance I feel, I think we all can learn from everyone around us. As a manager of the Caerleon salon I do love the challenge each day brings and being part of the Art Team allows us all to explore and expand our creativity.

As a result I was lucky enough to be a finalist in the Goldwell Trend Zoom Colour Trophy in 2007 and also joined Goldwell on their Blonde Tour at various venues around the country, a bit scary but what a buzz.

I have been hairdressing for just over 13 years and trained with Toni & Guy and worked in several of their salons for about 8 years after which I joined the Burlesque team where I am a style director and a member of the Art Team.

I also help deliver the ghd seminars and am passionate about showing students who attend the courses the new cuts and techniques and enjoy seeing them leave inspired taking something new back to their salons. I enjoy cutting enormously, creating versatile textured looks, I also take great pleasure in constructing some great looks for weddings in the Usk salon making their special day one to remember !

Max

Coming from a Toni & Guy background I do tend to like both strong and textured haircuts with a lot of emphasis on a quality finish, I also feel I have a huge amount of foundation skills which I exercise on the salon floor.

I am passionate about being an Art Team member and love the challenge of delivering the ghd seminars in our academy.

Hair for `09 is bigger with more structure, and being a member of the Art Team will allow me to develop these forthcoming shapes.
